The cutting-edge balers, which will be fully operational in the next few weeks, will play a critical role in compacting up to 80,000 tonnes of recyclable materials processed annually at the site, which replaces CWM’s former Materials Recycling Facility. **Major Energy and Cost Savings** Equipped with REP-TEC’s latest 150 kW energy-efficient hydraulic power units, together, both Twin Ram Goliath balers are set to deliver significant and measurable results: - 30% reduction in electricity use – saving around 180,000 kWh annually - £63,000 cut from energy bills every year (based on £0.35/kWh) - 32 tonnes of CO₂e saved annually – the equivalent of taking several cars off the road > Mark Doherty, Sales Director at REP-TEC, says, “This is exactly what we want for our customers: reliable, high-performance equipment that makes recycling more profitable and sustainable. For CWM Environmental, saving over £63,000 a year on energy costs while cutting carbon is a real win-win.” **Driving Down Emissions in Recycling** This project marks the launch of REP-TEC’s new campaign to help recycling companies cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions with energy-efficient twin-ram balers. By reducing electricity demand, operators can lower their carbon footprint and operating costs without compromising performance. Colm White from CWS Engineering commented: > “REP-TEC’s Twin Ram balers stand out for their low cost-to-bale ratio and energy-efficient ECO-DRIVE technology.
