We are close to completing the installation of two energy-efficient Twin Ram Goliath balers at the new Nantycaws Resource Recovery Facility (RRF) in Carmarthenshire, owned by CWM Environmental and developed in partnership with CWS Engineering.
The cutting-edge balers, which will be fully operational in the next few weeks, will play a critical role in compacting up to 80,000 tonnes of recyclable materials processed annually at the site, which replaces CWM’s former Materials Recycling Facility.
Major Energy and Cost Savings
Equipped with REP-TEC’s latest 150 kW energy-efficient hydraulic power units, together, both Twin Ram Goliath balers are set to deliver significant and measurable results:
Mark Doherty, Sales Director at REP-TEC, says, “This is exactly what we want for our customers: reliable, high-performance equipment that makes recycling more profitable and sustainable. For CWM Environmental, saving over £63,000 a year on energy costs while cutting carbon is a real win-win.”
Driving Down Emissions in Recycling
This project marks the launch of REP-TEC’s new campaign to help recycling companies cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions with energy-efficient twin-ram balers. By reducing electricity demand, operators can lower their carbon footprint and operating costs without compromising performance.
Colm White from CWS Engineering commented:
“REP-TEC’s Twin Ram balers stand out for their low cost-to-bale ratio and energy-efficient ECO-DRIVE technology. Their project energy savings at Nantycaws shows how the right equipment can deliver real commercial and environmental impact.”
A Smarter, Greener Future for Carmarthenshire
The Nantycaws RRF will support new Workplace Recycling Laws, create skilled jobs, and serve as a flagship recycling hub for South West Wales, helping to drive the region towards zero landfill.
